On August 14, 2008 we paid a visit to the UH general counsel’s office. The attorney for our school with held some documents about the Fair Labor Association and the phony apparel task force. The UH lawyers like to disregard the state laws that says they have to provide public information. They usually run to the Attorney General and ask if they can’t withhold the documents. Then the attorney general tells them they must give us the documents. When we went to collect some documents, this is what happened… Brendan vs. UH cops, Tim vs. UH lawyer
In the end, the attorney general told them again, that they had no legal right to send another letter to the attorney general and argue about it, they must release the documents. The moral of the story is UH lawyers are rude, disrespectful, have no morals or ethics and regularly violate the Texas Rules of Professional Conduct. However when we file a complaint with the Texas Bar Association they usually dismiss it because they’re lawyers too and they don’t want to police themselves. What a crooked system!
